The Warriors 7-Months Bridging-year programme

The WARRIORS seven months bridging or gap-year programme, designed for bright, energetic and adventurous young adults (male & female) who are looking for real direction and purpose.  The programme is ideally suited for school leavers and young adults as a foundation for entering into adulthood and offers something special and completely different from the well-worn and commercialized gap-year jollies.

The participatory approach and combination of hands-on learning and action make it an ideal, holistic way for students to embark on a meaningful path shaping their own lives, and those of others.

This programme is not for everyone. Not all candidates who apply will be accepted, and not all candidates who start the programme will finish it. This is not about money and prizes for everyone. It is truly challenging. Their character will be tested; they will develop physical and mental courage tempered by a sense of what is right. The one-on-one support is a fantastic addition to the team experience.

By the end of the seven months, the successful graduates will have developed real mental grit, exceptional physical stamina and will posses near unbreakable self esteem. Time and again they will have confronted and conquered their fears either on their own or as part of a team. They will have established exceptional bonds of friendship that will last a lifetime; most importantly they will have developed the real essence of leadership which is carrying people with them by persuasion and example; not merely learning how to grab the levers of power.

The programme works brilliantly for both men and woman. a limited number of participants is selected each year and only those truly committed to the programme will be accepted.

The programme lasts for seven months between February and August each year and includes two short breaks. International participants can go home during these breaks or immerse themselves even further by staying with South African Families of the local Warriors. The programme will challenge even the most gifted person both physically and mentally.

The above objectives are achieved by exposing the individual to various experiences through participation in a range of activities. The Base Camp is situated in the mystical Magoebaskloof area in the Limpopo Province in South Africa.  By the end of the programme, the participants will be equipped to take responsibility for their own destiny by making decisions based on a variety of experiences and knowledge gained during the programme.

The programme comprising an extraordinary range of experiences that are designed around 4 core values:
  • Self Actualisation
  • Social Skills Development
  • Adventure, Eco-tourism, Health and Fitness
  • Entrepreneurship and leadership
